Buying your books each semester can be a bit stressful. Here are some tips that will hopefully save you time and money during book rush.
Get your books earlyThe sooner you bring in your booklist the better your chances are of finding used books. Used books are always up to 35% less than new books and the University Bookstore works hard to offer as many used books as possible. Use our Textbook Pick-Up programPlace your book order online through our website. We will pull your books and box them up for you. No lines, no confusion.
Use our Textbook Reservation program(Note: Now closed for Fall 2012.) The University Bookstore offers a free program each fall called Textbook Reservation. All you have to do is provide us with your course schedule over the summer and we’ll pull your books for you before classes even start. It’s a great way to get first dibs on used books and keeps you from having to locate your books on your own during book rush.
Save your receiptFor refunds or exchanges you must have your receipt. Keep your receipt in a safe place in your dorm room or your apartment.Books are returnable for the first seven (7) business days of the fall and spring semesters; the first three (3) of May term and summer. After that they can be returned within three (3) days of purchase, or sold through buyback. Books cannot be returned for refunds during Finals week.
Use the librarySome instructors will place textbooks or other course materials in the reserves section of Fogler Library. If your professor doesn’t have a textbook on reserve – ask them to.
